Screaming and yelling at your child athlete is NOT a part of the game and is doing more harm than you think to your kids
Show Notes

There is little doubt that having your kids involved in a team-oriented activity, whether its band, the debate club or sports, can have a lasting and positive impact on their development, as well as provide critical skills that carry over into adulthood. However, over-zealous parents, abusive coaching, or forcing kids to play can all undermine whatever good you had hoped your child would gain by being an athlete. In fact, sports can be a major source of childhood trauma for kids with long-lasting negative impacts.

Listen to Amee and Jax Anderson, a former Division I basketball player and now therapist specializing in working with teens, talk about how parents DO hurt their kids through sports and how the whole experience can be done positively.
